How to Get Here

  • Spectrum Color will provide transportation to/from hotel to training facility and hosted offsite dinners.
  • Participant to make flight or driving arrangements on their own to arrive in St. Augustine.
  • Day 1

Kick off with safety essentials and workstation organization before diving into the fundamentals of plug making. You'll begin prepping parts with filler, sanding to a high-gloss 1000-grit finish, and applying the initial gel coats.

  • Day 2

Focus on the precision of mold surface preparation by sealing and waxing the plug. The afternoon is dedicated to the critical phase of spraying tooling gel and starting the fiberglass mat layup to build structural integrity.

  • Day 3

Transition into finalizing the fiberglass and bracing for your primary mold. You will then move into specialized training by prepping a swim step for repair, creating a custom mold specifically for that part, and beginning the layup process.

  • Day 4

The final day focuses on the "moment of truth"—pulling the mold from the plug and the part from the mold. You’ll master repair techniques by grinding and screwing molded pieces into place, followed by final fiberglass work, fairing, and a high-quality buffed finish.
